Taxi drivers will undergo mandatory PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing for Covid-19 in Tbilisi, Tbilisi City Mayor Kakha Kaladze said.
"Risk groups are constantly being identified and tested for Covid-19. One of such risk groups are taxi drivers in Tbilisi. It is very important to take care of people’s health and safety of life," Agenda.ge cited Kaladze as saying.
He said that both category A and B drivers will undergo mandatory PCR testing once every two weeks. PCR testing for taxi drivers will be free.
Police have fined several Covid-infected taxi drivers for violating self-isolation rules in Tbilisi.
